Kuranda railway station lift out of service

The Kuranda railway station lift will be out of service effective from Tuesday 22 October 2024 for a period of approximately 3 weeks. The Kuranda railway station lift is undergoing important maintenance to ensure customers with accessibility requirements have access to the Kuranda Scenic Railway experience.

The only exit from Kuranda railway station to get to Kuranda village, Skyrail or to do a day tour will be using the stairs from Kuranda railway station platform. The stairs consist of 31 steps and may be difficult, unsafe or not possible for customers with accessible requirements including those with disabilities, young children and those travelling with mobility aids, prams and strollers.
